Text Box: The Concert Series Returns

On Sunday, April 3, 2005 a standing room only audience, which included the faithful of the Diocese of Paterson, friends and invited guests, joined Bishop Serratelli for the return of the Cathedral Concert Series marking the Year of the Eucharist. This program was underwritten by Greater Community Bank.

The concert began with a moment of silence to honor the memory of Pope John Paul II. Selections included Ave Verum, Panis Angelicus, I’ll Walk with God and concluded with the singing of All Creatures of Our God and King.

A script by Father Edward Lambro, the Cathedral Concert Series’ artistic director, was narrated by Emmy Award winning actor, Bruce Connelly and featured Cathedral Concert Series favorites, Patricia Dean, Eleanor Antonelli, Richard Hilton and Carol Dziuba.  The Diocesan Choir was under the direction of both its leader, Paul Kusler and Michael Pierce, Music Director of Our Lady of Magnificat Parish in Kinnelon.

Bishop Serratelli commented at the end of the performance: “I wish I could find a more eloquent word to describe the choir and soloists, but the first word that comes to mind to describe my feelings is ‘wow!’” The audience responded with a standing ovation honoring the performers.
