The diocese is blessed with urban, suburban, and rural parishes.  Our parishes, schools, agencies, hospitals, and ministries help to serve the 425,000 Catholics who live in the diocese.

It is with great joy that the Diocese of Paterson marks the 10th anniversary of the installation of Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli as the seventh bishop of the Church of Paterson on July 6. 2004

A papal visit?
News reports continue to hint that Pope Francis will travel to the U.S. for the World Meeting of Families to be held in Philadelphia in September 2015. Whether or not the trip will include other papal stops in our area of the nation is pure speculation at this point.  In a July 25 statement, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia said there "has been no official confirmation by the Vatican or The Holy See of Pope Francis' attendance. We still expect that any official confirmation will come approximately six months prior to the event."

Catholics can remember their home parish by giving the gift of a lifetime
CLIFTON — For Catholics, their home parish is often for them their second home. Parishes are the setting for life’s most joyful times and events – baptisms, First Holy Communions, weddings. They are also the places where one of life’s most difficult moments occur when saying goodbye to loved ones at their funeral Mass.
