The Diocese of Paterson includes the three counties of Passaic, Morris, and Sussex in northern New Jersey, under the leadership of Bishop Arthur Joseph Serratelli .

The diocese is blessed with urban, suburban, and rural parishes.  Our parishes, schools, agencies, hospitals, and ministries help to serve the 425,000 Catholics who live in the diocese.

It is with great joy that the Diocese of Paterson marks the 10th anniversary of the installation of Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli as the seventh bishop of the Church of Paterson on July 6. 2004

Healthy? No. Harmful? Yes.
A bill to remove almost all abortion regulations is drawing strong opposition - and rightly so.  The bill - entitled the Women's Health Protective Act - is actually harmful to women.  Introduced by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), the legislation would ban many restrictions on abortion, including laws to require certain credentials or testing of doctors who perform abortions. It would also prevent laws against sex-selective abortion and bans on abortion after the baby is developed enough to live outside the womb.

MADISON — Catholics get to know God through the Eucharist, which also remains as the central component of the New Evangelization, because when Catholics get to know the Lord, they can help others know God.

A Statement by the Catholic Bishops of New Jersey on Marriage as a Union of One Man and One Woman
