The ancient ritual of "Burying the Alleluia" will be revived in the diocese at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 in St. John Cathedral here. Butler parishioners sew cloth to drape over crucifix during Easter
BUTLER - For parishioners at St. Anthony Parish here, "The Cloth of Sorrow" truly is the fabric of their lives. During the 40 days of Lent, the parish community has brought pieces of cloth to represent the hurt, pain, sorrow or grief they are carrying in their hearts and in their lives. Diocesan Catholic Charities is now the host site for the Child Assault Prevention Project (CAP) covering both Morris and Passaic counties. The stamps in the passport of Msgr. Joseph Ciampaglio, retired priest of the Paterson Diocese, keep coming and coming. As a member of Catholic Relief Services' (CRS) Priest Homilists Team, he has traveled to Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Madagascar and now the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia. His next trip will possibly lead him to Israel where he will spend time in December in Jerusalem. While these international trips have made marks on Msgr. BOONTON - In one sense, the Polish Holocaust started not with the Nazis' knocking down of the barricades from Germany into Poland on Sept. 1, 1939, but with the asking of two simple questions, "Who are you?" and "What are you doing here?"
