Work continues with the decorative truss painting, window stone frame paint stripping, HVAC ductwork & fire alarm system installations, and architectural millwork in progress.
Nave ceiling is completed, plaster walls are repaired, nave ceiling light fixtures are installed, and work continues on stripping the paint on the window stone frames.
Additional stained glass is removed and packed to ship to the Botti Studio shop for restoration. Installation of structural bronze T-bars is completed as the preliminary cleaning of the stained glass commences.
The New Year starts in full swing with ceiling, HVAC, electrical, stained glass window, plaster, and choir loft floor work in progress, simultaneously.
As cast stones arrive for installation, the gilding of the bell tower cross is completed, dangerous brownstone spalling is removed and prep work for the stained glass window new protective glazing continues.
Crawl space structural steel is installed; first layer of floor decking is completed allowing the installation of the interior scaffolding to access the nave ceiling for demolition to begin.
The cathedral has a full house as both the exterior and interior renovation projects simultaneously work towards the same goal, the restoration of our mother church. Restrooms , walls, doors, fixed furnishings and flooring are removed as the interior renovation picks up steam.
